Rotaract is an international service organization that brings together young adults aged 18 to 30, committed to promoting goodwill and understanding while actively addressing pressing humanitarian issues. With its roots tracing back to 1968, Rotaract has steadily grown into a powerful force for positive change, spreading its influence across more than 170 countries.
The purpose of Rotaract revolves around the principle of "Service Above Self," emulating the core values of its parent organization, Rotary International. Guided by the Four-Way Test – a set of ethical standards – Rotaractors uphold truth, fairness, goodwill, and beneficial outcomes in all their endeavors. The organization offers a platform for young leaders to sharpen their skills, exchange ideas, and build enduring friendships across borders, all while uniting under a common goal: to create positive change in the world.
Rotaract is structured in clubs, just like Rotary, each led by enthusiastic members who coordinate projects, plan events, and drive the spirit of service within their local communities. These individual clubs come together under the umbrella of Rotary International, a larger organization with a rich history of philanthropy and service dating back to 1905.
The global spread of Rotaract has been remarkable, facilitated by its vibrant network and a shared passion for making the world a better place. Its global impact is a testament to the power of collective action, youth empowerment, and the universal desire to contribute to the greater good.
